Sr. Mary Jo is a nurse practitioner at a clinic in Washington, DC. The year before last, she returned from our Mother House in Paris (Chapel of the Miraculous Medal) where she served the community as a translater/interpreter for 6 years. Sr. Mary Jo had previously taught science and French at Elizabeth Seton High School in Bladensburg, MD. Sr. Mary Jo also served in Bolivia for a number of months when the community requested help following an earthquake there.
Sr. Ellen Eisenberger celebrates 50 years as a Daughter of Charity this year!! I am so blessed to be on mission with her at this time. She is a prayerful woman with a great sense of humor! Sr. Ellen has been an elementary school teacher and principal in various places on the east coast and she served as a hospital Vice President of Mission Services.
Here is Bishop Rozanski, Cardinal O'Brien and Bishop Madden with the jubilarians of the Archdiocese of Baltimore. The cardinal and bishops expressed their utmost appreciation for the contribution of Religious to the ministry of the archdiocese.
Enjoyed this, Sr. Denise. Especially the jubilarians leaving "jubilantly!"
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sr. Denise, for posting these news/photos. I know Sr. Mary Jo Stein during one of the sessions in the Mother House in Paris and our group had a wonderful experience with her as our translator and friend. I am blessed to have come across this news about her because we have lost touch. In my heart, I celebrate with her this significant milestone in her life as a Daughter of Charity. I, too, celebrated my silver jubilee last year (2011)here in the Philippines. May we have many more young women to join the Company as we grow older in our vocation years, and hopefully in fidelity to the legacy of our Founders! More Blessings!
