Vincentian Confrere Named Bishop

We are very blessed to have one of our Vincentian confreres named as bishop!

"Pope Benedict XVI has named the president of Catholic University in Washington, Father David OConnell, to become the next bishop of Trenton, New Jersey. The Trenton Diocese serves 119 parishes in Burlington, Mercer, Monmouth, and Ocean counties. Father David OConnell 55 years old, will serve as coadjutor of the central New Jersey diocese until the pope accepts the resignation of Bishop John Smith. Smith must submit his resignation when he turns 75 on June 23. It’s not known when the pope will accept the resignation."---Excerpted from www.famvin.org
