So, do Daughters of Charity have any fun?? Well, certainly! After Holy Week and Easter celebrations, my local community decided to go do something fun together. So, we went to see the Baltimore Orioles play against the Boston Redsox. *Just so you know--the O's won! Granted we had seats in the nosebleed section and had good exercise walking back from the car, but we had a great time! I had taken a short video of the other 3 Sisters singing at the 7th inning stretch, but the sound didn't come out. You can take my word for it that they did a great job singing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" and "Thank God I'm a Country Boy". Do they sing Country Boy at other ballparks or is that just a Baltimore thing? I know only in Baltimore would the french fry stand have a shaker of Old Bay Seasoning to put on your fries!
A new favorite game of mine is Rummikub--basically Rummy on tiles which you can rearrange to your advantage once they are put down. The other night 3 of us played. We played 3 games and wouldn't you know that each of us one a round! It definitely wasn't on purpose since the game does bring out competitiveness.
Any fun games, movies or books you recommend??
Of course the O's won, you probably were praying for them! LOL. Glad you had a good time!
ReplyDeleteOf course, the Daughters have lots of fun! :) We played Rummikub a lot when I was at St Agnes.
ReplyDeleteOne game with lots of laughs is "Apples to Apples"...a "requirement" to play is knowing the other players well, which shouldn't be a problem because of your community life! I'll have to bring it over your house one day :)
"Country Boy" is most definitely a Baltimore thing. I hadn't realized the "O" in the Anthem was a Baltimore thing either...until I went to sports games outside the Baltimore area in college!
